MOUNT BERRY, Ga. -- Riley Uhls, who leads Division III in hits and RBIs, was named Southern Athletic Association baseball athlete of the week for his monster performance in last weekend's series against Oglethorpe University.  

The Vikings took the first two games Friday, 18-8 and 23-11, before dropping the finale on Sunday 18-10.

In the first game of the Friday doubleheader, Uhls went 2-for-4 with four RBIs and scored twice.  In the first inning, he pounced on the first pitch he saw and sent it over the left field fence for a two-run home run. His second hit came in the bottom of the fourth, when he singled and knocked in two more runs. He then scored on the next batter's single.

In game two of the doubleheader, Uhls went 3-for-5 with six RBIs and scored twice. He reached on an error in his first at-bat, and he blasted an opposite field three-run home run in his second at-bat. He added an RBI double to his tally in his next at-bat, and he came around to score on the next batter's double. He notched his third hit of the game in the fourth inning, a two RBI single. He flew out on his last at-bat, ending his hunt for the cycle a triple away.

In the final game of the series on Sunday, he went 3-for-5 with two RBIs, bringing his weekend total to 12, and he scored twice yet again. In the first inning, he hit an infield single but failed to score as he was stranded 90 feet away. His next hit came in the fifth inning, and it was an RBI single through the left side. He later scored in that inning on a groundout. In the next inning, he knocked another run in on a single and scored on the next batter's double. 

Uhls and the baseball team return to action Tuesday, as they travel to Maryville College, with first pitch set for 2 p.m. ET.
